1. Service Description

CiteOps.ai ("we," "our," or "us") provides an AI citability analysis tool composed of:

• Chrome Extension — Analyzes web pages locally in your browser for AI citability signals including schema markup, E-E-A-T signals, GEO readiness, content quality, and technical factors.
• Dashboard — A web application at app.citeops.ai for tracking scan history, monitoring competitors, managing team members, and accessing API keys.
• API — A programmatic interface (Team tier only) for integrating CiteOps analysis into your own workflows.

The Service helps brands optimize their content to be cited by AI systems including ChatGPT, Google SGE, Perplexity, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

You may use the Service if you are at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract. By creating an account, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it current.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Service to analyze pages you do not own or have authorization to analyze.
• Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service.
• Use automated means to access or scrape the Service beyond what the API permits.
• Use the Service to generate spam, misleading content, or to manipulate AI systems in deceptive ways.
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without our prior written consent.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

4. Subscription Tiers and Billing

CiteOps.ai is offered on three tiers:

• Free — $0/month. Includes 10 scans per day and template-based suggestions.
• Pro — $29/month. Unlimited scans, AI-powered suggestions, competitor tracking (up to 3), HTML/PDF export.
• Team — $99/month. Everything in Pro, plus 5 team members, unlimited competitor tracking, API access, and white-label reports.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. Billing is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store payment card details.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time from the dashboard under Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until that date and will not be charged again.

We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by applicable law.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to registered users. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

5. Data Handling and Privacy

Our data practices are described in detail in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Key commitments:

• Local analysis — All page analysis runs entirely in your browser. Page content is never sent to our servers.
• Opt-in sync — Scan results are only saved to your dashboard when you explicitly choose to save them.
• No telemetry — The Chrome Extension does not collect usage data or browsing history.
• Your data — You own all data you create using the Service. We process it only to provide the Service to you.

6. Intellectual Property

CiteOps.ai and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by CiteOps.ai and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of any content you create or upload using the Service (scan reports, white-label configurations, custom schemas). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You may not use our name, logo, or trademarks without prior written permission, except as permitted in our white-label report feature for Team tier subscribers.

7. API Access (Team Tier)

Team tier subscribers receive access to the CiteOps.ai API. API use is subject to these Terms and the following additional conditions:

• API keys are personal and must not be shared publicly or embedded in client-side code.
• The default rate limit is 60 requests per minute. Exceeding this limit may result in temporary suspension of API access.
• We may modify, restrict, or discontinue API features with reasonable notice.
• Automated bulk analysis must respect the rate limits. Use the Retry-After header when receiving 429 responses.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including Stripe (billing), Supabase (infrastructure), and OpenAI/Anthropic (AI suggestions for Pro/Team). Your use of those integrations is also subject to their respective terms of service.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
• Any scores, recommendations, or analysis results will guarantee AI citation of your content.
• AI platforms will index or cite your content regardless of your score.

AI citation is determined by third-party systems outside our control. CiteOps.ai optimizes for known citation signals but cannot guarantee outcomes.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CiteOps.ai shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities — arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CiteOps.ai and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or for any other reason with reasonable notice.

On termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.

You may request export of your dashboard data before terminating your account by contacting [email protected].

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify registered users via email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Miscellaneous

• Entire agreement — These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and CiteOps.ai.
• Severability — If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
• No waiver — Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it in the future.
• Assignment — You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights freely.
